Monstera deliciosa is the most recognisable ‘houseplant’ & is used throughout the world in logos, wallpaper, art, fashion, tattoos & popular culture. In it’s natural environment it grows from the deep shade of the jungle & attatches itself to trees with aerial roots. Once it’s attached it will gradually climb vertically chasing the sunlight. You often see this plant growing wild in the unkept overgrown gardens from the 60s. If it can’t attach to something it will grow horizontally & you will see a long thick branch above ground level with fresh leaves at the end.
This plant is happy to be watered as per our general houseplant watering guide below. To maintain nice healthy foliage you can liquid fertilise monthly between September & April. Over winter watering will be less frequent but be aware that heaters & fireplaces will dry the plant out much faster than normal so let the leaves tell you when they’re thirsty. If they feel soft & limp then they are lacking moisture.

Plant Notes : Monstera deliciosa is available in a range of sizes but as the plant grows it will need to be supported by a totem or stake. For this reason they tend to look much better in a corner position.
